Gita 18.2

Kaamyanaam’, karmnaam’, nyaasam’, sannyaasam’, kavayH, viduH,
Sarvkarmfaltyaagm’, praahuH, tyaagm’, vichakshnaH ||2||

18.2 English Translation

(KavayH) the Pandits (kaamyanaam’) performed for fulfilment of desire, religious (karmnaam’) actions (nyaasam’) relinquishment (sannyaasam’) Sanyas (viduH) consider and other (vichakshnaH) wise men (sarvkarmfaltyaagm’) relinquishment of the fruits of all the actions (tyaagm’) Tyaag (praahuH) call. The Pandits consider the relinquishment of religious actions performed for the fulfilment of desire to be Sanyas, and other wise men call the relinquishment of the fruits of all actions as Tyaag.
